b. 1986, HK.

In the 4th grade, I picked a biography on Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, for a book report. She was an author and I wanted to be a writer. In reading her book, I was struck that someone that climbed trees and played with her siblings, just like I did, could grow up to write something that could get a country thinking and change minds on an important issue.

For 15 years, I have been using words to change and influence minds. As a fundraiser, those words were often spoken--a speech to a group, a conversation with a donor, and even scripts for events. But I'm also fond of writing them down and seeing them in print. When not producing words, I ingest them through books and far too many podcasts. I am often found with my Shih Tzu sidekick, Ollie.
